Schumer Pledges to Work on Long Island Infrastructure Bill
U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) said he will work early next year to craft an infrastructure bill that he says will help modernize Long Island’s aging infrastructure. At a press conference at the Ronkonkoma Railroad station, Schumer announced his push for a $1T infrastructure deal in his first 100 days.
Schumer, who will serve as the minority leader in the Senate next year, claimed the infrastructure bill is key to keeping companies and jobs in the United States and said funding this new bill would be “a real opportunity to get America moving."
Representatives from the New York State Laborers were on hand to support Schumer as he said the infrastructure bill would boost New York’s overall economy and employ millions of Americans, according to the Long Island Business News.
