NYSLOF Supports Crucial 3rd Track in Long Island
Both supporters and opponents of a proposed third track on the LIRR’s Main Line had the opportunity to present their side to state transportation officials. Six meetings were held at Hofstra University, New Hyde Park, Westbury and Hicksville.
Local 1298, NYSLOF and representatives of the New York State Laborers attended the meetings and participated by voicing their approval of the project. The Laborers have been one of the main advocates for this project from the beginning and will continue to be involved as the project moves along.
George Truicko, Business Manager of Local 1298 and Co-Chairman of the Right Track for Long Island Coalition, spoke in favor of the project.
