NYSLOF Attends 27th Annual Somos el Futuro Conference, 2014

NYSLOF met with legislators, scholars, business leaders, and community representatives at the 2014 Somos el Futuro Conference in Albany, NY to address various issues pertinent to the Puerto Rican/ Hispanic community. Somos el Futuro, Inc. is a nonpartisan, nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization. Its mission, like that of NYSLOF's, is to create a platform to unite and address the various issues and concerns that are important to people of Puerto Rican/Hispanic dissent.

Among the numerous speakers were New York City Mayor Bill Deblasio; Public Advocate for New York City Letitia James; Speaker of the New York City Council Melissa Mark-Viverito; New York City Comptroller Scott Stringer; City of Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan; U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand.
