Local 1298 Participates in Rebuild NY Now Rally

Laborers' Local 1298 and the Long Island Contractors' Association (LICA) along with local politicians gathered to demand their fair share of infrastructure capital in the upcoming 2015 state budget.  As destructive potholes explode across Long Island, underscoring the wretched condition of many of the local roads, the Rebuild NY Now coalition called for this rally as part of a statewide campaign seeking to promote investment in New York’s extensive road and bridge system.  

 

Among those in attendance were LICA Executive Director Marc Herbst and several local politicians, as well as Laborers’ Local 1298 Assistant Business Manager George Truicko and fellow members.  The rally urged the public to contact their elected officials and demand that the proposed state budget be amended to include far more dollars for the region’s roads and bridges.
